The Role of Effective Teacher Found in Helen Keller’s Novel “Story of My Life”
Abstract
The aims of this research are 1) to identify the role of the effective teacher found in Helen Keller’s novel “Story of My Life” 2) to identify the implication the roles of effective teacher found in Helen Keller’s novel “Story of My Life” on the student’s character building. In conducting this research, the researcher used library research as a research design and descriptive qualitative research for the research approach. The research data are utterances that produced by “Story of My Life” by Helen Keller’s novel. The researcher used some coded personality traits and componential themes of the effective teacher from Minghui and Qinghua theory for analysing the effective teacher in the novel. The source of data in this research used “Story of My Life” by Helen Keller’s novel. The researcher used a documentary technique to collect the data. The result of this research showed that 1.) There are twelve the role of effective teaching found in “Story of My Life” by Helen Keller’s novel. 2.) The implication of effective teaching on students' character building has a big influence such as, it can make students happiness, cheerful, comfortable in learning, friendly to the teacher, struggle, and more be brave to improve their skills.
