Preferensi Terhadap Pendidikan Pesantren dari Perspektif Orang Tua dan Calon Santri di Era Digital
Abstract
This research aims to explore the preferences of parents and prospective students towards Islamic boarding school education in the digital era. Islamic boarding school education, as an inseparable part of the education system in Indonesia, faces significant challenges due to the dynamics of technological development and the influence of the digital era. The focus of this research is to understand the influence of traditional values, technological factors, and security and comfort aspects in forming the preferences of parents and prospective students. This qualitative study used interviews with 25 prospective students (children) and 25 parents in data collection. subjects were intentionally selected to represent a wide range of backgrounds and levels of education. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to obtain participants' perspectives and experiences regarding school readiness. Thematic analysis was used to identify common themes and patterns that emerged from the interview data. In analyzing the results and discussion, this research revealed several things, including factors that influence parents' preferences in choosing Islamic boarding schools, including: security and controlled environment, religious and moral values, technology in learning, positive experiences of previous parents and economic considerations. factors that influence the preferences of prospective students in choosing an islamic boarding school include; family influence, friends' experiences and surrounding environment, mass media influence, and islamic boarding school comfort and security factors. it is hoped that the research can provide a foundation for the development of islamic boarding schools that not only maintain their traditional values, but are also able to answer educational needs in the ever-growing digital era.
